Step 1: Online Application

Step 2: CDL Permit Test
Visit your local license branch and complete the Class A CDL permit test, which includes:

General Knowledge

Combination Vehicles
-
Airbrakes
Step 3: DOT Physical
After passing the permit test, you’ll need a DOT physical. Bring proof of this to the license branch so it can be registered on your license.
The Month's Events
Classes run every other week. Each class is 12 days: Monday–Friday, the weekend, and then Monday–Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Classes currently are limited to 2—3 students per class.
Payment Details
•Deposit: $1,000 (holds your spot, covers drug test and 12 hours of theory videos—both must be completed before class).
•Balance: $4,600 due on the first day of class (cash or check; credit card adds 3% service fee).
If you live in Wisconsin, and if you are employed, you can refer to the Wisconsin Workforce to apply for funding through their grant program.
